This includes not only having a neat appearance and good attitude but also being well trained and familiar with the client’s requirements, as well as special preparations, such as anti-terrorism training.


Norred's Uniformed / Safety Security Officer duties include:

  • Protecting your business’ property and staff
  • Observing for signs of crime or disorder

In addition, we are extremely careful about who we choose to be your business’ uniformed/safety security officers. From the initial recruitment of a prospective employee to final evaluations, we conduct an extensive screening of those applicants that we feel meets our high standards. We do not hire anyone with a “suspicious” background.

All applicants considered for employment undergo a complete background investigation, which includes:

  • Statewide Criminal Search, Wants & Warrants
  • Nation Search, Wants & Warrants
  • Sex Offender Search
  • Social Search
  • MVR
  • Employment Verification
  • a 10 Panel Drug Screening

In addition to meeting our strict background requirements, potential candidates must also have the following qualifications:

  • Positive Attitude – one who is friendly, outgoing, and professional
  • Well Dressed
  • Must be physically able to perform routine duties relating to securing premises and doing routine tasks such as standing and walking for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must possess at minimum a high school diploma or have equivalent G.E.D.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or registered resident alien
  • Must successfully complete All State Mandate Security Training as well as our three day security academy
  • Must be drug free and have no criminal convictions. Security Officer can not have a misdemeanor record that relates to theft, drugs, or any crime of violence.
  • Must be able to communicate in English and possess good reading and writing skills

Carefully Trained

A big complaint of many security firms is the lack of staff training. You don’t have to worry about that with Norred because our training is top-notch. Quarterly training is required in order to keep all of our uniformed/safety security guards up-to-date with laws, regulations, and post orders.

You’ll find many of our uniformed/safety security guards in many businesses throughout the Atlanta area. The average age of our uniformed/safety security guards is in the mid-forties, the prime of a person’s working career. Our security guards are thoroughly trained to be friendly with the public, so your business’ customers will feel at ease.

No one is assigned to your account until they have completed all training courses. These include:

  • State Mandated Training
  • Norred Training Academy
  • Active Shooter Training
  • Workplace Violence Training
  • Customer Service Training
  • CPR and AED Certifications
  • OTJ Training specific to each customer (at no cost to client)

Norred works with our customers to customize the on the job training per site including the site duties, post order manual and length of training time required at each location.

Additionally, all of our officers receive site specific quarterly training (at no cost to client) and continuous training which is necessary to enhance our officer’s security skills and provide additional security certifications. This ongoing training provides our officers with the up-to-date information, tools, and resources to perform their job and enables us to continue providing superior service to our clients.
